A Panorama

by davidstorm

I normally don't upload stitched panoramas to the Gallery as the space available doesn't suit them (this one is less than a tenth of its original resolution). However, I'll give it a go and see how it looks. This was taken near to Blea Tarn (Great Langdale) in the Lakes.

Needs the Large view and even then it's not very good compared to the original.

You're right David: panoramas don't suit computer screens but one can see the potential in this one.
Best wishes,

Looks great David, but as I think you're indicating it really needs to be printed at about 2m wide. I've struggled to find a UK company to print panoramas and would be interested in any recomendations.

Looks promising indeed David - I totally agree that computer screens do little justice to panos though, shame that that is

Spectrum Photographic in Plymouth is where I get my panoramic prints done.

The prints are made on an Epsom 9880 large format inkjet printer with Epsom Ultra Chrome K3 8 – colour inks and Fuji professional inkjet media - they can produce Archival grade prints up to 43.75" wide by any length.

I recommend them very highly and the quality is brilliant.

I get a 'flush card mount' back bonded to the prints, which stops the warping in a frame - big panos have a tendency to creep/ warp if not made rigid, over time.

They also have the option to do giclee prints for panos on cotton rag paper, which again can have the flush card mount bonded to it if you want something a touch different?

Hope that's of some use

This must look phenomenal at full size and resolution
