Bath Time Duck

by GlynM

Just messing about with the Pentax water proof camera, Optio WG-1.

The camera was in underwater mode, macro and forced flash (which was diffused by being under the surface).

The camera seems to have survived this ducking .

Fun shot and a good one, glad you didn't turn the camera round.

Made me smile on a day when I became totally depressed by the PU forum.

Many thanks people for all your comments.

This picture was one of the better from a number attempts today to get an entry for the fortnightly, "water" competition. In the end I went with a shot with a running tap but without the duck as this seemed more relevant to the subject requirements.

Hopefully you will be pleased to know that I was not actually in the bath myself but hanging over the edge. One reason for this was that the camera manual specifically says that the camera should not be used in warm or hot water and so the bath was full of cold water.

I did have a first attempt at a competition entry shot, with the WG-1, last weekend. For this I asked my wife to leave the water in after her bath. I then let this cool down. Unfortunately it didn't really work with her bubble bath but the camera did smell very nice for few days .

Hyram - Pleased to have brightened up your day a little. I have been really busy this week and only just caught up with the fairly depressing forum threads and of course, with family roots in South Wales, also felt for the recent losses which, I agree, put the PU forum issues into some perspective.

What a lovely composition and well taken shot. I hope that you didn't take this shot in bath time and your family wasn't standing in a cueue in front of the door of the bathroom.

Gábor
