Photographed in April of this year. Almost certainly a recently emerged, over-wintering specimen. Serves as an example of the close-focus capabilities of the Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 Di LD (IF) Macro.

That macro is perhaps my favourite lens. Its resolving power is considerable, it weighs a lot less than the Pentax equivalent, and the auto focus is fast and accurate. As a bonus, I can shoot one-handed with it when convenient to do so.
