Grumbling Clouds

Photo Information
Camera PENTAX LX on tripod and PENTAX SMC 24 mm lens (manual focusing). Kodak slidechrome 100 ISO EKTAR scanned on EPSON Perfection 3200. Shutter speed: 1/500s and F11. Single file HDR tonemapped in NIK collection. I choosed for an HDR to give back right balance looked at in that moment. I have also a BW version of same place taken with KODAK T-MAX 400 ISO BW film. Not sure which of the pics work better.
Place: going to Siena and close to Buonconvento. The “white”house sprang to my eyes while looking at this scenery. A pure white embedded in the sun of early afternoon. A few clouds were grumbling in the far. Hot…very Hot….the first of this weak spring.

Stunning: an image that captures the ethereal beauty of the Tuscan landscape in the vicinity of Siena.

One would know it was hot from looking. HDR can be great when it is used correctly and this is a prime example. I find certain landscape photos work great with a 3x multi-exposure bracketed by 1 - 2 stops and simply merged in Lightroom with no other processing can give a painting like exposure whilst still remaining a 'photograph'.

Great to see Pentaxians doing this kind of work and with a film camera.

The LX is like a Mercedes to me, I could buy one but couldn't afford to get it serviced

Simon, if you search eBay and find an LX from Japan you will hopefully get one in delightful condition, as I did!
Splendid, as always Giulio!
