It's got a timeless sense of brooding that underlines the idea of 'Memento Mori'.

As regards earthly remains, for photographers, family researchers and historians these old cemeteries are invaluable and Tony's beautiful cove in Hawaii sounds idyllic, but it is surely the fate of our eternal souls which should concern us most.
As the man said: "...in sure and certain hope of the Resurrection to eternal life."

Victorian churchyards were surely placed there for the benefit of future generations of talented photographers like Andrew. Not much call for snappers lurking around crematoria or snorkelling beneath the waves in search of nostalgic images.
