Mapledurham Mill revisited

Photo Information
Mapledurham Mill is one of the oldest water mills on the Thames and is still working, grinding flour.

This shot was taken from the far bank of The Thames, probably around 100m away.
I like using this view as a makeshift 'lens test' as there is plenty of fine detail.
Look especially at what looks like a No 7 on the 2nd tree from the right. This is a broken 'PRIVATE' sign.
With most other lenses I have been able to make out the word PRIVATE.
However, with this DA18-135 at 100mm the original image at 100% reveals the full text as
'Mapledurham Estate STRICTLY PRIVATE'.

The detail on the roof tiles and the trees behind the roof is pretty good too.
A lady several houses away has an upended 3inch gas pipe, complete with a screw-in stopper at the end (top) that she uses as a washing line post. I use the top of that to test telephoto lenses. So far, an elderly Soligor 250mm preset is winning.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Full of detail and rusric textures. the Thames running by unhindered adds touch of dynamism - Extaordinary esp. considering the distance = t

Many thanks to you all for the nice comments.

This view is not quite as close as your test shot, David, but it is seen at the start of a lovely walk along The Thames Path so we go there whenever we can.

Thanks again
Peter
