Ford Escort MK2

You would never use auto focus for this photography. Preset focus and f8-f11 is the way to go possibly with catch in focus and high shutter rate set. Nor can you blame Pentax AF, this type of photography was obviously possible before AF was invented. I can do it with a 70's ME/MX.
The Mk2 really is the icon rally car in Ireland/GB and a great photo, great colour!
I think most rally fans love a mk2 😀
My granda used to collect me from primary school in his Mk2, a yellow one. An older mate of mine had a Mexico in his early 20's. There is nothing in comparison nowadays, modern cars are dull and boring. I wouldn't have one about me
I meant actually work without as much intervention
You are right, my Da got a brand new Morris Marina in the early 80's and he had to dry out the damp plugs on it's 2nd day. I have a Megane Mk2 130k miles and it never fails, I do all my own mechanic work though, don't trust nobody as they are bad!
I do my own spanner work too - just changed my 14 year old 158000 mile Citroen c5 for a Pug 208 - I loved the c5 but it was time for a change - I never got 150,000 miles + from my old Fords or Vauxhalls without serious work being needed.
Yes I had a Corsa diesel and it was rubbish. I almost killed myself in it too, the Megane sticks to the road and it's only a standard 1.5DCi. I need to change the timing belt in it soon though as it would be a shame to waste it. Fords/Vauxhall are well done by 100k. The new Mercedes A180 has the Renault K diesel in it, I love telling their owners that fact
I don't envy you having the timing belt job to do - not much fun !
I have to credit the k5 for many of the images, as much as I enjoy the K10 still the k5 really helps with stuff that moves - my timing seems to improve with practice but the k5 certainly helps also ☺👍
