Gayle Mill

by PeterKR

The restored Victorian sawmill at Gayle near Hawes, Yorkshire.

You can see from how the leet enters the mill that this is an overshot wheel.

I like this one! The placing of elements is good and the contrast range is high with plenty of sharp detail.

Great shot

Many thanks to you all for the kind comments.

We greatly enjoyed our leisurely stroll around Hawes on the last day of our holiday. It is a very 'photogenic' place and I was pleased with the way the DAL 18-55 performed under a variety of conditions.

I was unhappy with my 'Kit lens' initially but after a couple of year's experience with it I think I'm getting to know it a bit better now ??? It certainly benefits from stopping down !

Thanks again
Peter
