Butterfly Lane

by morpheus71

Gazing out along Butterfly Lane - an ancient 'green lane' that lies on Beacon Hill, high above Shaldon & Labrador Bay. I have visited this spot many times and have a great fondness for it.

The coast lies half a mile behind where was standing as I made the photograph.

This ridgeway offers a grand vista out to Dartmoor, lying in the distance below the collapsing convective clouds late on a summer's day. The Teign estuary can be seen on the right.

Thank you very much Ged It's a grand place to stand and watch the skies; to smell the salty tang of the sea mix with wildflowers; to see kestrels hover along the lane and hedgerows then deftly pounce upon their next meal. A place to slowly feel absorbed into the landscape for a while.
