1744 departing Ramsbottom 18th Nov 2012

by sportyman531

Visiting N7 No. 1744 is seen leaving Ramsbottom with the 12:15 Heywood - Rawtenstall on Sunday 18th November 2012. The train was running late with 8 on including the dining car set. Over the years the trees have grown along the lineside and it is only over the last few weeks that this shot has been "on" again this year as the leaves have fallen off the trees.

Beautifully captured in that splash of sunlight.
Best wishes,

I always loved N2s, which this is, probably because I spent so much time at Kings Cross as a kid!

The loco has been sporting different destination boards and the Moorgate one was quite appropriate as there is a street called Moorgate in Bury but I wouldn't like to try to get there by train! This was the last day the N2 worked on the ELR so I am told, now it's Santa Specials up until Christmas...
