Waiting For The Boss

by davidstorm

Possibly my favourite image from my trip to The Lake District this week, shot at Seathwaite Farm, in the Borrowdale Valley. Many thanks to Larry Sovitch for taking me to this place.

Hi Larry, yes I agree, but it wouldn't have looked like this if the weather was great! I went back the following day, it was wet too. Took some nice pics of Stockley Bridge, but most of them were ruined by water drops on the filter, I just couldn't keep it dry. I might try to process a couple and clone out the spots, but it will be difficult!

Cheers

Don't know about the weather...truth is, the light in such weather tends to result in spectacularly contrasted photographs.... but than, that's me...always looking for the bright side The pic is beautiful

Like all the pictures in this series this just oozes Lakeland and North Pennine atmosphere. Its so typical of farmsteads throughout this region - the hill shrouded in mist, the age-weary white walls, cobbles, old out buildings. And then the icing on the cake, the wee dog.

But that's what makes it so emotive of the Lake District (can't have lakes without rain ! :lol

I love the composition with the dog but to me the only spoiler is that once you've seen the arrow to the car park it tends to draw the eye away from the picture ?
I realise there was, of course, no way not to include it whilst capturing the special moment so perhaps it's just me being 'finnicky' ?

Best regards
Peter

I like it a lot. You've really captured the place. And the dog looking through the gateway is a bonus.

Lovely interesting image and beautiful quality as always. I like the signs as I think they add to the story with the coloured in holes on the letters, and the 'dogs wel...' just past the dog's nose. I also like the irregularity of the cottages on the left.
Kind regards, Yvonne
