For he's a jolly good Fallow...

I had planned to walk only a couple of minutes further along, before heading home. I stopped to get a drink from my bag and out of the corner of my eye I saw a 'ghost' moving through the grasses, I waited a few moments and then saw the stag staring at me, we held our gazes for several minutes before he calmly slinked away, further into the woods.

A sunbeam catches him, but subtley. The horns echo the branches and the texture of the grass and tree contrast with the smoother texture of the deer's body. It appears to be sitting down (but probably not) in the grass, giving the scene a tranquility boost, whether or not it was needed. Like.
Thank you very much I deliberately framed him with the trunk and bough, the repetition of form of antlers and gnarled branches the sunbeam diffusing through the seed 'ears' of the grasses made such charming fairy light effects around him... Sometimes everything just becomes magical for a few fleeting moments and we happen to be ready
Very nice.
Thank you very much

Lovely light and subtly isolated from the background.
