Blue Rose via PSE magic

by mandarama

Familiarisation play around: PSE magic selector tool used, then RGB balance adjusted to create the elusive blue rose. There is a colour bleed from the selection, lower left, that I can't seem to remove with the blemish tool. Any advice appreciated.

Nicely done. You should be able to remove the colour bleed using the clone stamp tool. Select a smallish stamp/brush size, select a section of the white background to clone and then 'stamp' over the colour bleed up to the edge of the petal. I think the blemish tool tends to leave a 'smoothed' result so where you have the high contrast of the blue petal edge against the white background, there will always be a bit if a burr left as the software makes the transition between white and blue a smooth gradient (if that makes sense). Using the clone stamp tool should leave a hard edge between the two instead which ought to deal with the problem. Hope that helps

Thanks, Matt. I'll give that a go. It's good to know how these things work too, so the full explanation on the blemish tool is also helpful. Thank you for taking the time.
