GWR 0-4-2 14XX no. 1450

Photo Information
Fitted with an auto-coach, these little tank engines were used on branch lines. The driver could control the train from the front of the auto-coach. This avoided having to run the engine round the train at the terminus.

A rural English branch line scene from more than half a century ago, you've captured the atmosphere here perfectly Andrew.
Those little engines had a fair turn of speed, I remember reading in one of the railway mags that they could run up to 70mph.

Only ever went to the WSR once, back in the 80s, on a non-operating day! Looks delightful!
