Photo Information
This is one of those ones where I know this is not right but i can't quite put my finger on what I've done. It just doesn't have the impact I was hoping for, It may well be that all that's needed is a wider angle lens but please make any comments you can.

What did you think was going to give the impact? The shops being in the foreground provide a lot of interest, but are incomplete. The hill, trees, rocks seem to lack punch on their own. Also the sky is very bland with no clouds to give interest. I'm sorry if it all sounds negative, but it is meant constructively.

I thnk Barrie has hit the nail on the head there. I don't think the different compositional elements work very well together. If you google "rule of thirds" you should find plenty of info on compositional technique which could assist you.

Thanks guys, I think at this stage I really need to read into things rather than assume I'll have a natural flair, I should browse through the gallery and see if I can spot techniques etc.
As for critique the bolder the better I say.

It's difficult to see just what point you were trying to express!
