On 'The Twig' tonight... a European Hornet
Possibly my favourite insect... for photography and around the allotment... it is one of the "good guys"!
K-1, smcPentax-D FA Macro 100mm f2.8 WR
1/400,f/8, ISO 4000 [TAv mode]
Single hand held... the other was holding my photographic accessory.... "The Twig".
Well done
Indeed - to manage to hold both steady!

Indeed - to manage to hold both steady!
Hence the 1/400th..... for a 100mm lens....
And thanks everyone for the comments....
go4IT... apparently, that third eye allows it to position accurately....
I have seen one leave the 3/4" slot in the trap without moving left or right, forwards or backwards.... it just rose slowly upward and flew off...
and I didn't think to switch to video!! I was too mesmerised!!
Never be afraid to talk about your techniques...

the same camera, lens and scene...
and you'll always get a thousand different takes!!"
