Electricity Helicopter

I saw this helicopter flying just above the power cables close to my parents home in Earley near Reading today (17/02/15).
I was just getting ready to depart and putting stuff, including my camera, into the car when I saw it coming towards me. I was lucky to have my 55-300mm lens fitted and was just about quick enough in getting the camera out of its bag to get four shots in before the helicopter disappeared over the horizon.
The excellent weather today was also in my favour.
This is one of four helicopters operated by Western Power Distribution who I think normally serve the South West, Wales and the Midlands so it appeared to be a little bit out of territory working over Berkshire.

Shot raw, processed in LR5 with some final tinkering in PSE10.

It is a nice sharp capture, a good reflex shot. The only 'improvement' I could suggest would be a bit more rotor blur to give more sensation of speed...you'd have needed a shutter speed of about 1/300 - 1/350th though and would have lost some of the sharpness unless you were very good at panning.

Lovely shot...l saw the same helicopter heading your way came over Tunbridge wells in quite a hurry...my shot was a disaster.. well done
