I'm a great believer in photo projects to focus our minds, even quick simple ones like this one. We could pick any item in the house and then use it to make some images. It exercises the mind...

On a serious note, these were shot using the 18-55mm WR lens, which hopefully will reassure anyone thinking of buying the kit lenses.
