Steam and smoke
Photo Information
Met up with Cliff-P and John 941 for a day of photography at the East Lancashire Railway at Bury last Sunday.
South of the station we were shooting straight into the sun but a road overbridge gave good shade for the lens and provided some fine smoke and steam effects. This is a train doubled headed by a Standard 4MT tank engine and the historic London and North Western freight Super D engine.

Really fantastic image. Looks fabulous large. Excellent smoke effects and I love the light picking out the the rails.

That said... Normal 'train photography' does not tend to be as exceptionally fantastic as this!

I wish PentaxUser had a 'favourites-button' so it could be added to profiles (like flickr does...)...

An excellent mono treatment, made to look slightly surreal by the bridge being out of shot- very atmospheric.
