Tornado at Durham

Photo Information
Tornado at Durham last June. It was raining heavily that day too. This recently built A1 class express steam loco has recently been repainted in the early British Rail blue livery. Can't wait to see it's new look.

Great angle and light David. I'm not at all sure about the blue paint-job, though...
Best wishes,

Andrew

Love the lighting, David. I too remain to be convinced at the prospect of a blue makeover......

Best wishes

All I can say that as a small boy watching the trains at Newcastle Central Station I can remember seeing A4s and A3s and the new A1s in blue and thinking how good they looked. I was gutted when I saw the first A4 in dark green and thought it looked drab. Brunswick green was fine for Great Western engines with their polished brass and copper but not for the LNER and even less for the ex-LMS Duchesses.

I always thought the A4`s looked good in BR green but I see what you mean David, There is only one colour for the Duchesses and Princesses and that's Crimson lake.

Nice shot of Tornado btw .
