Tornado at Durham

Photo Information
The first brand new main line steam loco to be built in Britain since 1960, Class A1 Pacific 'Tornado' ran this weekend on the East Coast Main Line with special trains. Here it's at Durham today, Sunday February 1. The light was poor, the crowd was almost impossible to work in but I grabbed this shot at 800 ISO. K10d with 50-135 DA* lens, shot 'blind' with the camera held up at arms length way above the crowd.

If you Google Tornado there's web site donated to the loco which gives details of forthcoming runs.

Yes Terry, but which is the 'old' and which is the 'new'. The steam engine has just been built, although to a 1947 design. The modern diesel may have been running for a few years now.
