Steaming through Staveley

Photo Information
I know a few on here are quite fond of A4s, but I have always been impressed by the Duchesses.

Ex-LMS No 46233 'Duchess of Sutherland' is seen here passing Slitting Mill Crossing near Staveley (North Derbyshire), with a day-trip from Leicester, up the East Coast Main Line to Newcastle.

The air was cool and crisp this morning and the sun would have been right behind me if it had made an appearance. I think the exhaust stood out quite well and she made a tremendous noise - what a spectacle!

Anybody wishing to photograph this fine loco in action will be able to do so on Sunday 4th May 2014, between York and London Kings Cross.

The link below gives passing times at stations (with 3 letter abbrieviations in brackets) and other railway locations along the route.
