Raven-stonedale Stonewall

by pgweber

In North Yorkshire & Cumbria, many of the little country lanes are bordered by meticulously assembled walls like these.

It is almost mono to start with, but I left it colour so that the odd brown patches might add interest.

Shot as jpg on K10D/16-45.

p.s. some might lichen it to Andrew's picture for today.

Well, I must be the one mentioned in the p.s. Actually, I thought it was Andrew's, when I saw it as thumbnail. I like the lichens and the shapes of the slabs! Well done, Peter!

Thank you for your comment, Nezih.

I did wonder about a mono conversion and then to maximise the contrast to emphasize the cracks (which I think, are the main feature).

Peter

Peter, I failed to notice those odd brown patches in the bright sunny midday at the seaside when I viewed it first. Now I can see what you mean. As for the cracks, I think they are quite emphasized and their contrast does enhance the beautiful gray colour of the slabs.
