Not Harvested
Many of the houses in the village are not inhabited any more, as the owners moved to big cities, especially to Izmir. Some of the owners return to their old houses to visit their village and relatives for a fortnight or more in summer. It must be an old tradition to plant grapevine adjacent to the front of their houses, usually by the door. As they don't come every year or not come at all, the grapes strive to live on without being attended and those living permanently in the village never harvest them and they dry out in time and fall down. A sad sight.
