Cape Town Harbour (2)

by pauljay

Time to reflect on the recent past!
This was the one I intended to post last summer but I selected the wrong shot. However, the black and white version is a little too grungy for my taste.
Hand-held five-shot HDR. Weird settings!

Thanks Shaun! I think I must have set a fairly high speed to ensure that the camera was hand holdable.

I like it too Paul, the settings have clearly worked, with a bit of help from your processing!

Hi Paul,
fascinating texture the hull! It looks like the polished sheet metal! Virtuous loop toned.

Hey the settings worked out well!
My preference might have been to tone down the intense light in the background. Awesome shot(s)though. I really like it, so much that I would love to take a crack at the hdr myself...This is the kind of stuff I like, they are such great shots, many neat features and elements to bring out. A set of pics I wish I took!!
My guess is you had ghosting issues? They seem to have been managed really well.

Kind Regards,

JMD

Sorry Stewart I missed your question. I was using Photomatix Essentials up until very recently when I updated to the Pro version. I have realised that fusion works better in nine out of ten cases rather than tonemapping.
