A late evening view from the cliffs above Mutton Cove, looking across to the historic ex Royal Navy’s – Royal William Victualling Yard and the Devil’s Point. The transient golden light lasted about 20 seconds.
The island past the breakwater, at the end of Jennycliff Bay is the Great Mew Stone.
The luxury yachts are moored on the entrance to Stonehouse Creek.

The moment caught perfectly. Without the golden light this shot would have been just another seascape (albeit a very good one). The light transforms it to another level.

Thanks ever so much for the generous comments! Photographed this one back in October 2011, having gone up to try and work out an idea for a panorama at some later date. I realised after the button pressing that it was on a wide aperture (f/4) - so I am gobsmacked/ bewildered by the depth to this.... should have been a bit fuzzy in the distance for that aperture... f/8 kind of depth here... somethings work in a mysterious way. With the knowledge from the way the clouds were moving in relation to the sudden burst of golden light I just chose to react and knew if I checked the settings I would have missed the event. The twenty second window of opportunity here was a delight to witness

That golden light is a becoming a bit of a trademark
So nice, could be Italy or some other Mediterranean location
