Lane to Hut & Gate

Shot this morning at Clumber Park, Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire

K-5, SMC K135 F2.5, Tripod

Second attempt at uploading this image (compare it with the first one). I've learned something useful here - both images are from the same original jpg file, but I had reduced the image size on the first one to 1000px wide and on the second one I have just uploaded the original full size jpg. Now this is interesting because on my reduced size file I still have all the contrast and vibrancy of the original on my PC at home, but the upload process has stripped something out. The second one has retained much more of its original vibrancy (it's still not anywhere near the original, but it is better). This confirms that even when you re-size images to the required pixel width for the Gallery, the upload process is compressing them even more!! Why? It baffles me.

Hope this helps everyone else.

Regards
David

Further update: I think that what I've just written may be absolute rubbish. This one is no better, I've just looked at them side by side and they are both a pale shadow of the original. I have no idea why this particular image has been affected so much.

Not a lot of difference between them, here at least!

I think the first one has more vibrancy, but my preferred image has to be this one, it's a lovely Autumn scene!
