Aphid no more
by davidstorm
Taken in our garden this afternoon; I had just watched this Damselfly catch an Aphid in mid-air and settle on a grass seed head where it proceeded to make short work of devouring the captured insect.
Shot with a reversed Pentax-M 28mm F3.5 at F11. When using a lens like this, the depth of field is razor-thin, as can be seen above. It is extremely difficult to get a shot like this in the first place and even more difficult to get it in focus, especially when the wind is blowing the grass back and forth as it was today.
