There has been some really nice flower images posted here recently, which inspired this shot, I just figured I'd give it a go!.

Hi Chris, this is good image, thanks for sharing it with us. If you don't mind I could suggest a few things:

- I think the flower needs a little more space around it, not too much but it looks a little tight to the edges

- try it with a narrower aperture to get more depth of field and keep the stem in focus (F16 to F22?)

- Reduce the ISO to 100 or 200; if it's on a tripod, this won't be an issue

It would be nice to know how you lit the image. If it was lit head on, try it from the side and if you can use two light sources rather than one, all the better.

Thanks for the comments, to be honest I'm struggling with lighting on these subjects at the minute, this was taken with just long exposure, no lighting.
I've had another go with off camera flash x 2 increased DoF and lower ISO, but I don't like the result, I'll add to my portfolio maybe you could let me know where I'm going wrong.
