Shoreham Power Station Blue Hour I

Photo Information

This evening I drove along the coast to Shoreham Power Station to photograph it in the blue hour. I must confess that I am drawn to photography at this time of day. Somehow all the images seem very calm. Even industrial buildings such as this one seem to take on a certain beauty when photographed in this light. This image was shot using my PENTAX K-1 with a Samyang 14mm f/2.8 lens.

It certainly does suggest tranquility - somewhat at odds with a power station!

Did you have a starburst filter on the lens?

No starburst filter used. They are just diffraction spikes caused by the aperture blades in the lens.

This is where I would have gone for HDR which would have produced a completely different result! Most pleasing shot though!
