Fantastic shot! I think it is a Hibiscus. For someone that thinks he is not very good with plants you have done a dam good job of this one; nice colours against a blue sky and I like the stalk running up through the shot, along the diagonal. You could make it even better if you clone out the distracting highlight at the bottom left corner area. Too late now but you could have used a bit of fill in flash at the 6-8 o'clock sector of the flower petal area. At that proximity with at focal length you would perhaps have needed to slightly tilt down the pop-up flash head to direct the flash down towards the subject rather than shine over the top. I've made an adjustable shoe mounted bracket for that purpose; from aluminium alloy, mounted via plastic rainwater guttering material (to prevent shorting of the electrical contacts).
