Fungus in the sky

Photo Information
My wife said that if an artist painted a sky like this people would say it was just his imagination !
But there it was - above our heads.

Sometimes photography is about being in the right place at the right time. This was one of those occasions and I just had to record this unique piece of fleeting art. The clouds had dispersed within minutes and this picture would have been lost forever.

Gorgeous sky! It is so easy to miss by simply not bothering to look up!

We had an amazing sky with wisps of white against the deep blue background the other day. Didn't make the effort to get the camera though!

Love this!

Reminds me of what frost does on a window pane.

Beautiful in its simplicity and wind swept power. Happy you weren't tempted to B and W it.
THANKS, tg

Many thanks to all of you for the kind comments.

It was a different cloud formation which first caught our eye and I took several shots but then when I turned around and looked up I was amazed at what I saw ! I can't claim any credit for the composition - it was THERE - but I'm glad I was able to capture it.

Thanks again
Peter

Timing as the key then. And also keeping eyes well open even though you took the subject. Says it all with us looking-looking-relooking again and cameras needing to be at hand. What a result.
