Floating Cloud

Photo Information
I like the minimalism in this shot; the single cloud I think gives distance to the endless rapeseed.

Me too
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Beautiful minimalism....but it is not minimaliism IMHO. It is a GOOD photo. Just a few words more and I hope you don't offend. In this kind of subjects (and in many landscapes) it is very important DOF and all in focus. To enhace your concept of distance and endless you had to show us an "endless focus from here to eternity"...so doing your concept shoukd have been more clear and sharp. BUT this is my opinion only! (PS In different words I find your out of focus cloud and background a little bit distracting. Semantics of your compo suggests me/us a different concept: you wanted to isolate yellow foreground from the rest. The "opposite" of "endless", IMHO).

Striking image. You have chosen an unusual focus strategy, resulting in a sharp foreground and slightly out-of-focus cloud and background. A more typical landscape shot would have sharpness all through the image. But your focus strategy adds another dimension to the image and gives it a distinctive character that I appreciate.

I love the idea but I tend to agree with Giulio and Bjørn!
