Mantel Clock & Tiffany

Photo Information
Those of you who have seen my pictures may know that I like old clocks. This one is a French Black Slate and Marble Mantel Clock, made around 1880-95, movement by the Japy Freres Company in Paris. It chimes on a lovely mellow gong, every hour and half-hour and runs for nearly two weeks on a single wind.

The picture was taken in lamplight provided by the Tiffany, with a Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 135mm F3.5 wide open at its largest aperture. This is a superb lens for such subjects, being very sharp and rendering colours and out-of-focus effects beautifully.

Processing applied is a subtle pseudo HDR in Photomatix 4.1, from 5 exposure-adjusted originals.

Manual exposure & focussing, Tripod with 2 second self-timer delay.
