The Tin Bath 2015

I don't seem to have posted much since the 2014 version of this train ran about a year ago.
As last year, 'Black Fives' Nos 44871 & 45407 lead a charter train called "The Tin Bath" through South Yorkshire, this time past Ecclesfield in the North West corner of Sheffield.
The train was so named because its' itinerary took it close to Holmfirth, the setting for "Last of the Summer Wine".

Two Class Fives and 12 coaches. A heavy load but they would play with this even on some of the heavy gradients on this trip Peter
.
Only one thing better than two Class Fives - a Class Five and a B1 working in tandem as I saw at Carlisle a couple of years ago.

Pleased you enjoyed it Andrew.
David, a couple of photographers beside me had seen the pair assault Miles Platting bank as they left Manchester Victoria. That is always a fine spectacle, but alas not on the occasion in 2008 when 45407 slipped to a stand working solo on nine coaches.

This business of overloading is grabbing the headlines now that it is happening regularly. Thank goodness some operators retain a bit of sense.
