I love the depth of field...the shades of green are so much more natural looking then a black back ground.
I can almost smell the sweetness therein!

The depth of field of the Sigma 70-300mm lens is very shallow at its widest settings (it can go to f4, but I think that this was shot at f5.6). Given how little the lens cost (under £70), the quality is excellent. It's not the more highly thought of APO model, but it has proved a very good buy. I also prefer it when you can see some colour from the background in the shot, but if you shoot a white bud against a dark fir, the contrast range can be too great to capture much, if any, colour in the background.

The smell of some of the cherry blossoms was overpowering, and not always in a good way....
