The clearance of the Chapel of All Saints - Steetley

This old chapel is one of the finest examples of pure Norman architecture in England. Built in 1120, it exudes character and charm and really displays the art of the Norman stonemasons. Thanks to Anstonian for suggesting this location, which is only a few miles from home. The site is currently being voluntarily cleared by John and his wife, both in their 80's. They are doing a wonderful job. This image is intended to highlight the clearance work being done, not the actual chapel itself, but I'll post some more images later of the actual building and its fine stonework.
