Wonderful, eerie, but truthfully I think I prefer the previous one better. This reminds me of pictures from a fairy tale book I had as a child.

I think its the centre column that bothers me. Sorry. A bit over powering maybe?

Stephen
I gladly welcome C & C's. Being foggy minded they really help me learn.

I prefer this one without the expanse of patterned gravel in the other one. I'm not technical, but think the perspective needs tweeking so that the central column doesn't seem to pull the vaulted ceilings down - obviously not the case, they've been there for centuries! Great photo, what a place.

Lovely subject well captured, like wings flapping. Good tones & colour too.
I'm trying to work out if you used f13 &, if you did, why but anyway it has great depth.
It could be worth trying a B&W conversion of this.

Thanks for all your comments - firstly this is the first pic I've posted for Fountains Abbey. I can only assume that you are referring to the one my husband posted a couple days ago - if this is the case for those that prefer mine - thanks this will upset him!!!

I thought I'd used F11 but the exif seems to say 13! I'll have to check - I used F11 to attempt to get the depth. I did try an HDR but I'm struggling to come to terms with HDR! It would have been nice to get the tops of the first arcs but without a wide angle lens or removing the next column this wasn't possible!
