~Yes, Gary is the doyen of still-lifes (lives?) isn't he?

Nice warm feel to this. It would, I think be better if the flame were isolated from the fringe.

Thanks for your encouraging comments, more work needed I think though I doubt I'll ever match Gary's. It does look like the fringe might go up in smoke at any minute! Sally

It's a lovely shot Sally, i really like the warm tones and i know it's not that easy to capture as i've tried myself and failed dismally, this is wonderful compared to mine.

Very nice - as Maria has commented it is not easy to achieve a good result with subjects like this. Congratulations on an excellent picture.
