My retirement cake

I retired yesterday and the cake room make me this lovely cake with a camera on it, I got lots of cards,presents, huge box of chocs, and flowers and bottles and a bottle of champagne too.

"retired" .. ? what a bad idea .. so young .. anyway here's an unexpected new Pat; .. so you've got from now plenty of time to use your Pentax .. I wish you very healthy and active a new life

I'd be embarrassed to tell you what management gave me on my retirement a year ago, after nearly 43 years with the organisation! Even that was an afterthought! It would appear that you were well appreciated Patricia, which must give you a nice warm feeling. Enjoy your new life of leisure, although you'll probably find yourself working harder!

Thank you Paul, I was shocked yesterday but it was a lovely day, and I am still opening cards and presents and its Christmas day tomorrow.

Damn. When you first came on this site I resolved to visit your gorgeous cake shop the next time I was in Sheffield. I haven't been yet now its too late.

Congratulations, Trixie.I took early retirement a few years ago and it's been fantastic. So much more time for photography that it becomes difficult to fit in the DIY jobs my wife finds for me ...........

But David, the good news is, Trix is retiring from commercial cake making. She's still going to be producing her culinary masterpieces in her own kitchen...
