Christmas Cactus
by Cdn_Sailor
Shot taken with K70, an old Sigma 35-70 Lens with a 4x Hoya Magnifying Filter
Would this be better if the white was not competing with the white background? e.g. turn the pot round a bit?
I've a feeling it's already been rotated 90 degrees cc,
I quite like the white to white look on this. (But I do know what you mean)
Nice shot.
Where the flower was hanging over the side of the pot I was trying to take advantage of the natural afternoon light coming through the window to illuminate the flower without washing detail in the flower using a flash.
I guess I could have tried bracket shooting & PP in HDR or use the camera's internal HDR processing program
Unfortunately the blossom doesn't last very long so I'll have to wait and hope for another blossom to try improving the shot with HDR
