A mason bee waiting for the sunshine to warm her up.
by davidwozhere
This solitary bee spent the night in the mouth of the tunnel (a hole drilled into a piece of dowel) she is using to lay her eggs. When she has warmed through sufficiently she will continue egg laying and will then wall up the tunnel mouth with wet mud.
There is a series of images in the Forum section showing my "bee hotel" and the various bees that have used it.
