Lindisfarne harbour and Bamburgh Castle

by PeterKR

Boats in the harbour at Lindisfarne with Bamburgh Castle in the far distance.
Bamburgh Castle is about 6 miles away as the crow (or gull !) flies so the detail says much about
a) the air quality
b) the DA18-135WR lens or
c) the 16mp sensor in the K50

K50 + DA18-135WR, hand held

A really wonderful compo here with a lot of visual movement across the frame. Clouds appear to be moving R to L and most boats (and the gulls, which are an excellent addition) pointing L to R. Good solid foreground anchor by way of the blue & white boat leading eye to the background staple of the castle. Coloring is great and horizon line is spot on. So real feeling, I can hear the water lapping on the boats.
Cheers...Donna 😊

Nice image Peter. Plenty of detail and interest. I also like seeing how distant objects stand up to scrutiny...the castle at six miles is very good.

cheers

Many thanks for your kind comments.
We only had a short time on Holy Island but it gave us a taste to want to go back again for more.

Thanks again
Peter
