“The longer one stays here the more does the spirit of the moor sink into one’s soul...”
(Arthur Conan Doyle)
Quartering-light, through a narrow gap in the clouds to the west, falls upon the summit rocks of Bonehill Tor, Bonehill Down and Bell Tor beyond in the moments before sundown. The long shadowy ridge of Hamel Down can be seen in the far distance, across the Vale of Widecombe.
*This is a ‘squar-o-ramic’ stitch of three overlapping photographs in ‘portrait format’, composite image was created in Microsoft Research’s Image Composite Editor.

Always enjoy seeing your images, and I like this one even more than normal
.
Excellent overlaps between the foreground rocks and distant ridgelines.

Some of my vaguely better stuff

Many thanks indeed to Tim, Nezih, Blaze and Paul
I seem to have a growing fondness for square format compositions, doing them via stitched shots is a cheaper way than by a 6x6 medium format camera and a digital back for sure. If I could afford a Pentax 645D then knowing me I would still construct squares in this way and make giant prints
