They were never safe - never and nowhere
Our lovely goverment decided y year ago to let our NPS longer running then formerly decided by the last goverment - even two days ago they stepped in front of the TV cameras and said "Our stations are safe - nothing can happen here....." The problem is, there are still people believing this. However, based on the current development in Japan, our lovely Miss Merkel changed her mind and they now want to shut down some (they mainly do this because there are some important elections this year). I hope that people start to realize that a NPS is always dangerous and start to invest the billions of euro no longer in nuclear technology but in other, sustainable alternatives..... (sorry that I could not withstand to get a bit political today but I hope that the picture is still OK)

Wonderful picture. That would be some loss of photo opportunity if they decommissioned the plant.
I also have a good one from a solar plant

Regards,

Exceptionally beautiful sky with the light and smoke. We have none of those yet, but our government decided to plant one and it terrifies me even to think of it. Hope that the catastrophy in Japan teaches a lesson to all those who dare to want it.
yep. i saw the news today, that your goverment wants to stick to the plan - so strange that polititians accept thisbrisk - since this technology is available, they always played with it and accepted every conceivable risk. this stupidity seems to be very global.......
