Lovely longish exposure with good use of repeating elements. I agree with David; a crop at the bottom would be worth considering & this would emphasise the repetition.

Viewed large the bottom right has a miasma that runs off the image and returns mid right image at the jetty. To my eye it reminds me of a old painting effect of including the same color (Grayish) at diagonal corners (Sky and lower right miasma) to stretch the POV leading into the image. its spectacular -- hanks tg

Thanks all for comments and suggestions on this... very interesting...

Re the crop... I had a look at it... to be honest, for me, it ends up placing slightly too much emphasis on the man made objects (the piers, lighthouses, abbey etc), which are great, and the focal point of the picture, but takes them out of much of the context in which they exist (and why they were built in the first place)...

In my head, this picture is essentially about the elements, the sea and the sky, with mankind's engineering sandwiched inbetween them... for me, the more context they're in, the more impressive they are, and the more reason for their existence...

So I know what you mean, and it would undoubtedly make a great photograph, but just not quite the one I was after...

Great shot. Love the long exposure effect. I would tend to agree about the cropping. I use a Sigma wide angle and sometimes I find it leaves a little too much blank foreground.
