Phil - thank you for your thoughts on this. It's not taken as negative - just helpful. When I get the chance I shall try toning down the brightness and maybe the crop as an alternative

The right 2/3rds really works for me, but I find the upper part of the bright tree 1/3rd in from the left just too distracting. For me, I would either tone down the bright tree trunk, or crop from the left to just past it. Another alternative would be to turn it into a letterbox and take the top 1/3rd off.
Sorry if this sounds negative - it's not meant to be, because I think that this is close to being really special.
