Black Duchess at Carlisle

The restored 1930s Duchess Class loco Duchess of Sutherland, recently repainted from red to black, was at Carlisle today with a steam special run from Gloucester to Carlisle. This engine ran the train north from Crewe to Carlisle.

Well David your pictures look like they came out a lot better than mine!. John and myself caught her at Winwick junction today but I am a bit disappointed with my results. Yours look like they turned out spot on as usual, Well captured.

I thought your's might be posted here before mine today Cliff as I felt sure you would be out to capture this train further south. I had the advantage of it being stationary or moving slowly at Carlise, I bet it was going at a fair speed where you were.

He's pretty good you know Cliff!......wonderful image David..DoF is spot on,and wonderful true to life colour!...I love it....Ken
