Water Fun

by GIULIO57

Place: Malcesine. Garda lake. Italy. Summer 2018. No lockdown. No excuses or fake news about a virus to stop Democracy, yet. Freedom to be free and to have fun. Those were the days to prevent a new outbreak. We had the whole knowledge and experience about sars and mers. Portrait or landscape format? I gave a chance to vertical frame as all elements played an important role in that way: sail, surfman, fore and background in special way that intriguing cloud. It was necessary to describe that moment of light and those colors of an approaching storm.
Sometimes it happens at Garda lake to admire such sceneries when heavy storms come for a sparkling visit. Skyline disappears and it is no longer possible to look at opposite side of the lake. In this case opposite means west side in the direction of Salò town.
I’m not satisfied about human figure. I caught him while turning surf back. This capture lacks of action. No speed. No action-shape. For this reason I've choosen General category. Dynamics is completely missing, IMHO. But I like this picture and its colors. Hope you like it as well. Camera on monopod.

Nicely saturated colours Giulio...I quite like it...I think you are being a bit too harsh on yourself.

Always a pleasure to see your photos Giulio and glad you mentioned Lake Garda. We were there for a short stay a few years back and fell in love with the place. I agree with Karlo about being too harsh on yourself over the photo, as its got great colours and great action to it.
