In tow

Photo Information
Various locomotives to power the The Cathedrals Explorer charter train which starts in the London area tomorrow (Friday) have been positioned across the country. It required a complicated manoeuvre to get two of the main players from the North Yorkshire Moors Railway into place. The A4 Class Bittern and Britannia Class leader Britannia were towed in reverse from Yorkshire to Tyneside by a diesel. They came speeding through Durham station taking waiting photographers by surprise. They were very early and we hadn't expected the diesel on the front.

Pity about the '66!
